The history of Right Brain Education starts with the
research done by Drs. Robert Ornstein and Roger Sperry
in the late 1960’s. The results of these studies later led to Roger Sperry
being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1981. Sperry
received the prize for his discoveries concerning the functional specialization
of the cerebral hemispheres. With the help of so called "split brain"
patients, he carried out experiments (just like the one you can perform by
yourself in the Split Brain Experiments Game), and for the first time in
history, knowledge about the left and right hemispheres was revealed. They
found that each hemisphere contains a distinct personality, or set of
characteristics, opposite from the other.
While Sperry and his colleagues
found the different functioning of the brains, there was Dr. Glen Domman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who was
working with stroke victims and discovered that certain movements stimulated
brain development. Glenn Doman
lived with, studied, or worked with children in more than one hundred nations,
ranging from the most civilized to the most primitive. His primary work
continued to be with severely brain-injured children. Glenn Doman used flashcards of words
and math-dot cards to stimulate the brain and physical movement. Glenn Doman
method has been followed widely to accelerate development in children beginning
infancy. He founded IAHP (The Institutes
for the Achievement of Human Potential) and dealt intimately
with more than twenty-five thousand families over the last fifty years and
strongly influenced millions of families through his books.
Discoveries made
by Ornstein, Sperry and Dr. Gelenn Doman encouraged other brain researchers in
this field and as a result during the past 20 years there has been a tremendous
progress and revolutionary new knowledge contributing to the development of
Early learning.
There is yet
another man whom we should know whose early learning educational methods are
practise widely. He is Makoto Shichida, a
Japanese tutor, who began to use the stimulation methods and accelerated learning
techniques with very young children, beginning prenatally. “Right brain friendly” method developed by
him was known as Shichida method and is so successful across the globe. Those
children who received this training had capabilities of speed reading, solving
complicated equations, composing music and other amazing Talents even before
the age of Six.
HEGL also known as Heguru is yet another Right Brain
based early learning program. HEGL stands for Henmi Education General
Laboratory. This method was developed by
Hirotada and Ruiko Henmi over 30 years.
MySmartBaby is an initiative to provide mothers with
all these international training methods to suit the Indian learning system.
The MySmartBaby program will introduce various research based facts and discuss
new age learning methods which are appropriate to raise children who will face
the challenges of society in a couple of decades from now.

Right Brain Education emphasizes holistic learning, tapping into creativity and intuition. This educational approach diverges from traditional methods, prioritizing artistic activities and imaginative exercises to enhance cognitive skills.Right Brain EducationWith a focus on nurturing both sides of the brain, Right Brain Education aims to develop a more well-rounded and intuitive learner, offering a unique perspective on education and cognitive development.
